Magnificient hall
Below is a picture my work Colleague Lisa Keen sent to me that her sister Sarah Humphrey had taken of the ballroom underneath Blackpool tower.
Blackpool Tower has been entertaining the millions for some 114 years and has even managed to see off 2 world wars. The Tower was the brain child of Mr John Bickerstaff who while on holiday in Paris, fell in love with the Eiffel Tower and decided the now thriving Beach resort of Blackpool needed a focal point such as the famous Tower in Paris. 3 years later the tower structure was complete but it was several years later before the the now famous Blackpool tower was finished.
The circus and Ballroom was designed by Mr Frank Matcham. The Ballroom as you can see below is truly magnificent. In 1956 the ballroom was nearly lost to a callously descarded cigarette which almost burned the place down. Fortunately some of the original workforce were still alive so the Ballroom was restored to its original Glory.
The Tower boasts some of its own ghosts and the ballroom seems to be the most paranormally active part of the tower. An elderly Gentleman and a little girl both in victorian dress are seen at the balcony over looking the stage area. The circus also has its own ghost of a Victorian lady that sits in the Orchestra area.
In the picture of the Ballroom here you can see a strange light anomaly at the top of the picture and several orbs of different discriptions, all in various areas of the picture.
No one really knows what Orbs are. Some say they are the first stage of a ghostly manafestation, others say its pockets of energy and others just digital faults. They are though usually captured where paranormal activity are said to happen.
